CMC has numerous open parks and mountain meadows ringed by vertical cliffs and free-standing rock spires, tempting targets for serious technical climbers.
For Owners who want to participate, CMC will install a via feratta either on the 700 vertical foot cliff faces of Washboard Rock, a volcanic plug of columnar basalt, similar to Devil’s Tower in Wyoming, or on other cliffs at CMC. Via ferattas involve the installation of iron rungs that are used as footholds and handholds, as well as adjacent safety cables that climbers clip into. This makes it possible for anyone in good physical condition to climb safely, under the supervision of a select group of guides. Our climbing guides are elite mountaineers who lead climbing clinics at CMC and can guide interested Owners virtually anywhere in the world.
